Growing up, we were often short on cash, but there was always an abundance of love. My sisters and I spent summers in Southwest Michigan with our grandparents, and those summers have influenced me as a teacher. Before I was adding and subtracting fractions at school, I knew how to double or half a recipe. Not until I was much older I realized the gift Grama had for teaching. Her knack for hands-on learning was pretty progressive for herself having only a 6th grade education!

When I'm not in the classroom, I'm travelling, digging in the dirt, or working on a home improvement project.
