Pedagogy of Stem
As STEM teachers, we must consider the social implications of our teaching. While students are problem solving and designing, they should be exposed to multiple points of view and different contexts. Though there are small numbers of Indigenous people living in this area, we should hold ourselves accountable for teaching in a way which respects the Muscogee who were forced from this land. We should strive to incorporate Indigenous ways of knowing with western ways and ensure the students we teach understand that Indigenous nations are present tense, not past tense.
